Comprehensive worked solutions for all questions* can be viewed as a pop-up. Teachers can choose to make worked solutions available to students online. Teachers can also download solutions as a PDF document and send selected solutions to students for independent and offline learning.

VIDEO: Workspaces: show your working (powered by Cambridge HOTmaths features)

We’re pleased to bring you a number of videos that demonstrate the features of powered by Cambridge HOTmaths products. Each week, we’ll highlight a new feature.

The video demonstrates how students can now use the workspaces to show mathematical working online*. Mathematical working can be typed, drawn, uploaded and submitted to the teacher for feedback and marking or students can use the self-assessment tools and notify the teacher of problems.

Check student progress with an ACTIVITY REPORT

Activity reports can show how much work your students have done this term and highlight gaps in knowledge.

CREATE AN ACTIVITY REPORT FOR A STUDENT

  • From the dashboard select the REPORTS icon
  • Select the class or drill down an individual student with the + symbol
  • Choose from an Individual text report, Individual chapter report, or Individual activity report.
  • Click View

From the Activity Report you can drill down to chapter reports and view test results

Create and assign a test in minutes

CREATE A TEST

  • From the dashboard select the Tests icon
  • Click Create
  • Choose Using wizard
  • Name your test
  • Select the number of questions per level
  • Drill down to the required chapter and subject using the +
  • Click Generate
  • Edit your test with the delete or magnify options
  • Save

ASSIGN A TEST

  • From the dashboard select the Tests icon
  • Check the required test
  • Click Assign
  • Set the expiry and choose the class (or individual students)
  • Click Submit

Your students will receive a notification that they have a test to complete next time they log in. You can also save and print the test to use in class.

Create a task in a few easy steps

Did you know you can create a task for your students from within a unit or the dashboard?

 

01

From within a unit:

  • Click on the icon as shown above
  • A New Task window will appear from the unit you were viewing
  • Name your task
  • Check the activities you would like your students to complete
  • Select your class (or individual students in your class) and click OK
  • View, edit or close the new task from the Tasks page and monitor who has completed the task

 

02From the dashboard:

  • From the dashboard, click on the Tasks icon
  • Click onĀ  New Task
  • Name your task
  • Select the chapter and section you require
  • Check the activities you would like your students to complete
  • Select your class (or individual students in your class) and click OK
  • View, edit or close the new task from the Tasks page and monitor who has completed the task

Closed captioning available for video demonstrations in maths products

Cambridge University Press is continuing to lead the way with digital maths publishing and now offers closed captioning for video demonstrations in our maths products for Years 7-12.

Providing essential support for hearing-impaired students and anyone who prefers to play videos without audio, the video demonstrations can have closed captions turned on, to give real-time, worked examples of the most important concepts in each chapter.

We are pleased to announce the winner of the Cambridge HOTmaths usage competition: The Coast Christian School.
